Germany Holds Lebanon in its Heart… and the Two Join in Prayer next Sunday July 11

“Lebanon in the Heart of Germany” is a campaign launched by the Lutheran Church of Hanover in Germany in support of the Lebanese people to help face the hardships they are going through. While plagued by political corruption that led to one of the worst economic crises ever to face a country, its capital city Beirut was subjected to the largest non-nuclear explosion of all times.

The campaign to collect donations was launched from the city of Hanover, capital of the state of Lower Saxony, and will be concluded in a joint prayer service between the Evangelical churches in Lebanon and Germany, to be held next Sunday July 11، at 11:00 am Beirut time.

From Lebanon, the prayer service will be led by Rev. Joseph Kassab, head of the Higher Council of the Evangelical Community, and from Hanover, by Ralph Meinster, Archbishop of the Lutheran Church in Lower Saxony with a flock of 2.8 million people.

“Together for Lebanon” campaign collected donations for victims of the Beirut Port Blast, as well as those affected by the COVID pandemic. The campaign focused on the need to help create educational opportunities for Lebanese and Syrian children, while securing a safe environment for them, in cooperation with the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon.
