In collaboration with the Maronite Bishop of Deir El Ahmar (Northern Bekaa Valley), CPS expanded the outreach of its Agro Basket Program through the distribution of 160 Spring Baskets to locals selected by the diocese from the towns and villages of the area. Locals were enthusiastic to receive support for their household food budgets through very much needed vegetables they can grow in their gardens, after the large increase in the cost of seeds and seedlings, and of course vegetables and fruits. With the region being one of Lebanon’s primary agricultural areas, many passers by were asking to increase the number of baskets to be distributed going forward, in order to meet the greatly increasing need to face diminishing food security.

تواصل جمعية “تحنن” الإنجيلية جهودها لتعزيز الأمن الغذائي للمواطن اللبناني. وهي نظّمت بالتنسيق مع سيادة مطران دير الأحمر حنا رحمه يوماً زراعياً، جرى في خلاله توزيع مئة وستين سلّة زراعية ربيعية لمؤازرة المزارع البقاعي في دير الأحمر وجوارها في كفاحه للتمسّك بأرضه

بحماسة لافتة تسلّم أهالي المنطقة الذين إختارتهم المطرانية، عدداً من البذور والشتول كالكوسى والفليفلة والباذنجان والبصل، مع خمسة وعشرين كيلوغراماّ من السماد العضوي، لمساعدتهم على تأمين حاجاتهم اليومية من الخضار، في حدائقهم المنزلية

وطالب الأهالي بالمزيد من المبادرات الزراعية المماثلة ، نظرا للإرتفاع غير المسبوق في أسعار الشتول  والبذور، والخضار على حد سواء
